Graphics:
The 3D and 2D graphical displays in both of the games are bearable but there comes a noticeable improvement for the asphalt 9. This version carries a close-up look at the vehicle and the camera focuses in depth. You can observe a shorter area on full screen. This is one way helpful in playing the game. But the large resolution sometimes increases the chances of lagging errors in the video game. Since errors are very rare, enjoying asphalt 9 is a good play.
Multiplayer Game Mode:
The multiplayer game mode is itself a huge thrilling challenge in racing. The asphalt 8 does offer a multiplayer mode for its players. But in the case of asphalt 9, it is unfortunately unavailable. So if one wants the single-player mode, he must prefer asphalt 9 otherwise the old asphalt 8.
Game Control:
The game control for both of the games is easy and enjoyable. The asphalt 8 expresses two types of control.
Steer Control:
One is tapping to steer control, in which players may tap the touch screen to make the moves.
Touch and Tilt:
The other one is tilt and touch, where the user has to tilt the screen of the phone in order to make the perfect racing possible.
Physics:
The laws of physics are applicable in both of the asphalt series versions 8 and 9. The fact is that the physics laws seem more realistic and good for asphalt 9, in contrast to that of asphalt 8. The sliding, hitting, swapping and escapes are more enjoyable, real, and thrilling for the asphalt 9 versions.
Nitro Boosters:
The nitro booster technique doesn’t act very well in the case of asphalt 8, but for asphalt 9, it’s available in four different types:
- Red
- Blue
- Yellow
- Perfect nitro
The nitro boosters for asphalt 9, are even more attractive and enthusiastic. Following nitro boosters are present for the asphalt 9:
- Yellow
- Perfect nitro
- Red
- Nitro shock wave
Offline Gameplay:
The asphalt 8 supports a multiplayer mode where players need to be online all the time for this. Asphalt 9, does not carry any multiplayer racing mode.
Nitro Shock wave:
It is the purplish nitro booster action in the air that boosts the speed of the vehicles. This model is specifically associated with Asphalt 9. Asphalt 8 does not have the nitro boosters
Vehicles:
The number of vehicles in asphalt 8 is far more than that of asphalt 9. The asphalt 8 collects a huge variety of 306 vehicles. On the other hand, the asphalt 9 carries a splendid variety of 175 as a result of the latest update in July 2022. The older version had an even lesser number of vehicles.
In-Game Clubs:
The club is the association that keeps the players bound in-game and helps them interact with each other. Asphalt 8 does not have any clubs installed yet. But asphalt 9 has the club’s facility and up to 20 members( players) can join them at a time.
Routes:
The routes in asphalt 9 are much more realistic and dangerous, appetizing enough to race and compete as compared to asphalt 8. The routes in asphalt 8 are less close to reality and nature.
Game Types:
The older version that is asphalt 8 does not have a variety of gameplay types except single and multiplayer modes. The multiplayer mode is even better because there you may choose your opponent online from the list of players. But Asphalt 9 does not support any multiplayer mode. Instead, it holds four different game types:
- Classic: the usual racing arcade game
- Hunted: the gameplay with police chase up
- Time attack: the gameplay with a time slot
- Slipstream: the gameplay with a streamline left behind while racing
Conclusion:
In two games, when thoroughly observed with an eye of a connoisseur, we reached the conclusion that both games are worth playing. Each has the plus points that the other lacks. However, if one wants to play more in the circle of multiplayer racing games, he should prefer asphalt 8. But if one wants a variety of advanced single-player racing games, he must choose asphalt 9.
